baby box initiative.

The Safe Haven Baby Box is a cutting-edge device that allows a mother in crisis to safely, securely, and anonymously surrender her newborn. This climate-controlled safety device is authorized under a state’s Safe Haven Law and is typically installed on the exterior wall of a fire station or hospital.

Our Baby Box Initiative is raising funds to place baby boxes across our state while we wait for official rules to be made in accordance with Maine’s Safe Haven Laws.

Currently, fifteen states use baby boxes as a safe choice for mothers in crisis. Let’s add Maine to that list.
